@JQ0402 The original Greeed was named Giru, and the medals were the antithesis to the other medals: They represent a lack of desires. Eiji's lack of desire attracted the Purple Core Medals to him, and despite his best intentions, these medals basically drive him insane. When he tries to gain a desire to counteract the medals, it isn't before the medals turn him into a Greeed similar to Giru. Also, since they represent a lack desire, random combos with Purple Core medals are impossible.
