@ikcjjtt Yes, a lot of crime is, but not armed robbery of businesses. The news in every major city is full of these. Most of these businesses are in decent neighborhoods but Blacks drive to them with generally 2 to 4 friends as most of the workers are White in them. Again, not in all cases, but the majority of the time, it is true. Rape is really the most one sided of all crimes.

@pepjrp your statistics are wrong then. In the USA, most crime is intra racial. White on white, black on black. Poor blacks live with other poor blacks, poor whites live with other poor white. and do crime there.

@EmmelineBT Sigh. He isn't actually a slave. The clue in the movie is that he isn't actually a slave. You may as well complain that Dick Van Dyke's cockerney chimerney sweep in Mary Poppins is an insult to the Victorian proletariat, or something. This is part of America's culture. This time and place developed major musical forms that became blues, jazz, gospel, etc. It's part of history. People really need to get over it.

@stonecrazy89 No not Fox News, the FBI Crime Stats. You need to take an advance Criminal Justice class. Or you could just watch any big city local news to see the crimes and then keep track yourself. Finding a rape where the perp is White and the victim Black is about like the lottery odds. Armed robbery with the same make up is just about as hard to do. If you can find one, then attach the story in a link. How about just prove where Fox news did a bunch of lying.

@heartfire451 This is difficult to buy because it is owned by Disney. They have a "vault" system of limiting the purchase of all of their movies. "Beauty and the Beast" are about to go back into the "vault" and purchases of those CDs will not be available through Disney. I am a liberal and have never heard anyone take objection to this movie as being "racist". It is an example of the truth of history, and I know of no one who wants to erase that. We just don't want to repeat that history.

@TheMightyKing100 Well, the kids are going to fall to peer pressure and snort drugs, which is worse, anyway. They'd jump off a cliff if they're friends told them to, it is independence they need to be taught. I doubt they knew smoking was bad when this movie was made, not to mention a pipe is more healthy and cheaper in comparison to smoking a cigarette.

@heartfire451 That's exactly the point. The black character created here is a fabricated stereotype, to make people believe black people were happy working on the plantations. Look up blackface, minstrelsy and black archetypes. America created this stereotype as a way of justifying slavery. If the black man is happy on the plantation, there isn't a problem is there?

a black man being portrayed as being happy - such blatant racist insensitivity! clearly a black man had to be nothing but miserable if there was slavery! and he has a big nose?? it is obviously anti-semitic too! and the mouse logo bouncing up and down on the words are clearly a swipe at the president's big ears! so it's anti-obama too! and then the black boy running happily behind the white boy and girl?? clearly this is demonstrative of white supremacy!
